Your Tutor – Joy Moore

Joy is a graduate of Birmingham Art School, where she won the Dame Elizabeth Ryland scholarship in her final year. She lived in West London for 25 years where she became well established as an artist exhibiting regularly at local galleries and elsewhere in London and the north of England, and taking part in international art fairs.

Since arriving in Italy in 2006 she has become well established - exhibiting locally, in the Langhe, Turin, Varese and at the International Art Fair in Aix en Provence. She has been “adopted” by the commune in Cocconato as the local artist and in 2009 was asked to paint the banners for the palio of Ceretto Guidi, a town in Tuscany twinned with Cocconato. The benediction of the banners in the Medici chapel was followed by four days of games and celebrations.
Joy is primarily a landscape painter. Her work is about the response to the form, colour, space and light in landscape aiming to paint the power and existence of the landscape.
Her work can be seen on her website – www.joymooreitaly.com
